Senior Citizens Trip to Llandudno

Over recent years, Poynton Rotary have funded and organised coach trips to Llandudno in North Wales, and sometimes Southport for a change. We have been able to help groups of people from support groups and homes in Poynton.

Each year, Waitrose in Poynton have kindly donated chocolates and bottled water for the journey. Poynton Rotary Club supplement this with assorted packets of crisps etc. This is a good example of organisations working together within the local community.

The Seniors and Carers have come from:

  • Time Out Cafe,
  • Golden Memories Group,
  • Cedarwood House,
  • Poynton Christian Fellowship seniors,
  • Baptist Church Senior Link Group,
  • Woburn Court,
  • Dean Row Stroke Club
  • Dean Row Chapel

and other places

The comments received after the trips are always really positive. Here are a small selection of feedback comments:     “We were so well looked after”   “Thank you for thinking of the old folk”   “It was a pleasure to be taken out by such a nice crowd of people”   “It was the companionship that made the day more enjoyable and did us a lot of good”   “we came home refreshed”    “very nice and enjoyable”
